Amplicon’s Net Income Up 33% Over Last 3rd Quarter

Amplicon Inc., the Santa Ana company which leases and sells computers and other electronic equipment, posted third-quarter net income of $2 million, up 33% from the $1.5 million reported for the same period last year. Revenue for the fiscal quarter ended March 31 declined 4%, to $41 million from $42.7 million.

For the first nine months of fiscal 1991, net earnings totaled $5.4 million on revenue of $119.1 million. For the corresponding period last year, the company reported net income of $3.9 million on revenue of $111.6 million.

Patrick E. Paddon, president and chief executive, said the third-quarter results reflect an increase in profits from the equipment portfolio and higher net interest income. Revenue, however, was restricted by the slow economy.
