GE Unit in San Jose Wins Japan Licenses: General Electric Nuclear said the licenses will allow it to begin construction of two nuclear power plants in Japan that will bring it more than $1 billion in revenue. It said the Ministry of International Trade and Industry granted permits to a partnership of GE Nuclear, Hitachi Ltd. and Toshiba Corp. GE will provide the reactors, nuclear fuel and turbine generators for the plants. The facilities are scheduled to begin operation in July, 1996, and July, 1997.
