Report Ignores Facts on Bernson
Times reporter John Schwada states that Hal Bernson’s “land-use record shows he is not simply the pro-growth ideologue portrayed by opponents of the huge Porter Ranch development.”
The most recent traffic study for the Chatsworth-Porter Ranch area concludes that projected development, including the Porter Ranch plan, will necessitate expanding the Simi Valley Freeway to 14 lanes (seven in each direction).
Topanga Canyon Boulevard would have to be 20 lanes (10 in each direction).
It is impossible to expand the Simi Valley Freeway beyond 10 lanes or to expand Topanga Canyon Boulevard anywhere near that ludicrous size.
How much evidence does Mr. Schwada need?
With Bernson sentencing the 12th District to gridlock and a permanent deterioration of its quality of life, who cares what he’s done with a few condominiums in Pacific Palisades?
