IRVINE : Abortion Question Topic of Town Forum

Share

A forum on abortion, one of the nation’s most divisive issues, will held at a town hall meeting next Wednesday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Irvine Multi-Service Center.

Different approaches to the abortion question will be discussed, said Harriett Walther, executive director of the National Issues Forum of Orange County, which is sponsoring the forum with the Women’s Resource Centers of UC Irvine and Irvine Valley Community College.

The forum is being held to start a constructive dialogue with the goal to “end the battle” over the controversial issue, Walther said.

The talk will consider whether an unborn child has an inalienable right to life, whether life begins at birth rather than at conception, and the balancing act women have with respect to their alternatives.

The forum is open to the public. There is a $2 registration fee.
