WORLD IN BRIEF : UNITED NATIONS : U.S. Joins Rebuke of Israel Over 4 Arabs

The United States, casting a rare vote against its Israeli ally, joined the rest of the U.N. Security Council in deploring the deportations of four Palestinians from occupied lands. The vote was 15-0. Israel says the four, expelled last weekend to southern Lebanon, are terrorists. But the U.N. resolution says the deportations are violations of the Fourth Geneva Convention regarding treatment of civilians in occupied lands.
