Cameras have been rolling in Oxnard for the past few weeks and will continue to do so for a while longer. The P.M. Entertainment company wrapped up its filming of “Bikini Summer” at Silver Strand Beach yesterday, and beginning Tuesday a crew from a company called Pro Film Works will be in town shooting “Love Stinks.”

Karen Wolfe, head of the Ventura County Film Commission, said the commission is handling all accommodations for the film crews and is making sure that they have the necessary equipment.

Wolfe isn’t sure exactly what “Love Stinks” is about, but she knows it is a comedy that takes place in a tropical setting. “We’re even having to get tropical birds for them,” she said.

June is shaping up to be a pretty good month for video renters. Here’s a list of some of the expected releases:

Blockbuster Video in Port Hueneme will have “Postcards from the Edge” and “Kindergarten Cop” (both June 5), “White Fang” and “Green Card” (both June 12), “Goodfellas” (June 19) and “Edward Scissorhands” (June 27).

And, oh yeah, “One Night with Dice,” a comedy concert with Andrew Dice Clay, will be on the shelves June 20.

Also in June the Alamo Video stores in Simi Valley will add “The Grifters” and Disney’s “Prince and the Pauper” (both June 6); “She’s Back” (June 20), a “Ghost”-like movie starring Carrie Fisher that was actually made before “Ghost” but not released; “Reversal of Fortune” and “Not Without My Daughter” (both June 27), and “The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T” (also June 27). This is Dr. Seuss’ only non-animated movie. It’s about a mean piano teacher who forces children to play the piano. The whole fantasy is actually the nightmare of a young boy.

At the Fifth Street Video stores in Oxnard, which specialize in Spanish-language videos, the new releases will include “Cadenas” (Chains), about people who want to get out of the drug business but can’t break free from the chains of the drug dealers; “La Risa Loca” (The Crazy Laugh), a collection of stand-up comedy acts; “La Risa en Vacaciones” (The Laugh on Vacation)--the Mexican version of “Candid Camera,” and “Ninja Mexicano,” starring Leonard Daniel, the Steven Seagal of Mexico.
