Philip Morris to Hike AIDS Research Contribution: Philip Morris Cos., the target of a consumer boycott organized by homosexuals, said it would double its charitable contributions for AIDS research and education. Philip Morris did not say how much its yearly AIDS funding would be. The boycott was in retaliation for the company’s political campaign contributions to conservative Sen. Jesse Helms.
