What’s in a Name?

Share

I got quite a chuckle from Brad Golstein’s glossary of real estate terminology (Speaking Out, May 19), but I think he left out a few.

Here are several catch phrases I remember from our house-hunting days:

Spanish charmer--Looks like your neighborhood Taco Bell, only smaller.

English charmer--You won’t find Queen Elizabeth bedding down here.

Rustic charmer--Overgrown landscaping and weeds for a front lawn.

Ultimate fixer--A tear-down.

Move-in condition--Sure--right after you make all the repairs and paint inside and out.

Cute as a bug--Better fumigate before you move in.

Cute as a Hills--Any street one foot or more above sea level.

I’ll bet there are many home seekers out there who could add to the list.
