New Bravo: AST Research Inc. in Irvine said Tuesday that it has introduced a new model for its Bravo line of personal computers.
The Bravo 386SX/20 model, which is 25% faster than the company’s 16-megahertz version, will sell for prices starting at $1,895. The model will be packaged with Microsoft Corp.’s Windows 3.0, a program that simplifies the commands a user needs to learn to operate a computer by presenting information graphically, the Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet program, and other software.
Unlike AST’s Premium line of computers, the Bravo family cannot be upgraded. The company said last week that it plans to introduce a third family of computers for the mass market.
