From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A brain-damaged woman in Indianapolis whose feeding tube was to be cut off this weekend at the request of her parents will receive life-sustaining nourishment at least one more week, an appeals court decided. The Indiana Court of Appeals granted the one-week extension for Sue Ann Lawrance, 42, at the request of the National Legal Center for the Medically Dependent and Disabled, which said it needed more time for an appeal. Lawrance has been in what doctors call a persistent vegetative state since suffering an injury in 1987.
