Top executives of Apple Computer Inc. will visit IBM’s headquarters in Armonk, N.Y., today to discuss a technology alliance that could have a major impact on the computer industry, the New York Times reported. Unnamed industry executives were quoted as saying that one topic would be software for the successor to Apple’s Macintosh computer. The companies also will reportedly discuss whether Apple will use a powerful IBM microprocessor.
