TO BE CONTINUED: The Rodney G. King beating in L.A. is affecting a high-profile Orange County criminal case. . . . The retrial of Dr. Thomas A. Gionis, accused of plotting the 1989 Newport Beach assault on his ex-wife, Aissa Wayne, and her boyfriend, was scheduled for this week. But Gionis’ lawyers, John Barnett and William Kopeny, represent one of the four policemen charged with beating King, so Gionis will have to wait for his trial until July 29, maybe longer.
