SOUTH KOREA: Improved world trading conditions have brightened prospects for South Korean exports, leading experts to predict that the country’s gross national product will rise 9% this year. But the Korea Development Institute, a government think tank, said in its quarterly economic outlook that the current account deficit and inflation will be higher than last year. The GNP prediction compares to the institute’s forecast of 7.4% in January. GNP rose 9% in 1990.
