Parades Waste Money
Disgraceful, sinful --just two adjectives I can think of to describe the $7-million-plus spent to put on a parade in Washington, D.C., to boost the commander in chief’s ego. Sounds like it’s the beginning of the 1992 Republican campaign. A citizen’s duty is to his or her country; parades aren’t needed. I remind the commander in chief that the poor are living on the streets, cities are going bankrupt, schools are under-funded, social services are being scrubbed, there’s a severe shortage of police, and crime and drugs run rampant. When will this insanity end?
