Bridgestone Moving Headquarters Bridgestone-Firestone announced that it will move its corporate headquarters to Nashville, Tenn., by year-end as part of a restructuring. The move will consolidate the heavily indebted company’s U.S. operations, but it deals an unexpected blow to Akron, Ohio, also headquarters to Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and long regarded the tire capital of the world. The company has 200 salaried workers in Nashville and 1,350 in Akron, mostly in white-collar jobs. It did not say how many would lose their jobs in the move.
