Nation IN BRIEF : FLORIDA : New Accusations Filed Against Noriega

Prosecutors in Miami filed new accusations against former Panama strongman Manuel A. Noriega in an effort to bolster the drug and racketeering case against him. The accusations contend that he aided Bolivian drug smugglers, provided phony passports to Colombia’s Medellin drug cartel, protected still more cartel cocaine shipments and accepted bribes to return to smugglers a drug-laden ship that had been seized by the U.S. Coast Guard and turned over to Panama.
