Frank (Pacey) M. Pszyk; Retired Restaurateur

Frank (Pacey) M. Pszyk, who owned restaurants in Hollywood and Lancaster, has died at his home in Lancaster. He was 79.

Pszyk died Tuesday of heart failure, said his wife, Darlene Pszyk.

Born in Utica, N.Y., Pszyk came to California in 1940 and worked as manager of Du Par’s Restaurant in Hollywood. In the mid-1940s, he opened Ron-Off’s restaurant in Hollywood. Pszyk sold the restaurant, moved to Lancaster in 1951 and soon afterward opened the Desert Inn. After his lease ran out, he opened Frank Pacey’s Desert Inn in Lancaster, which he operated until his retirement in 1971. During the 1960s, Pszyk also owned Desert Irrigation.

Pszyk was a member of the Elks Club, Moose Lodge and Optimist Club, all in Lancaster.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years; sons Ronald Pszyk of Lancaster, Robert Pszyk of Redondo Beach and Richard Pszyk of Bishop, Calif.; brothers Stanley Pszyk of the San Fernando Valley and John Pszyk of Los Angeles; and two grandchildren.

A funeral is planned for 2 p.m. today at Murphy Mortuary, 154 E. Avenue I in Lancaster, which is handling the arrangements. Burial follows at Joshua Memorial Park in Lancaster. Donations can be made to the American Heart Assn. or the American Cancer Society.
