Most Israelis favor territorial concessions in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip, where Palestinians have been in revolt for 42 months, according to an opinion poll published Friday.

But the poll by the independent Guttman Institute showed most Israelis would hold on to East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights, annexed by Israel after their capture along with the West Bank and Gaza Strip in the 1967 Middle East War.

According to the poll, published in the daily newspaper Yediot Aharonot, 69% would give up some part of the West Bank, 78% would give up the Gaza Strip, 96% would retain East Jerusalem and 87% would retain the Golan Heights.
