Spectrum Asset Counseling Firm Names Partner

* Eric T. Smith has joined the Newport Beach investment counseling firm of Spectrum Asset Management Inc. as a partner. He formerly managed the Orange County office of Van Deventer & Hoch. Before that, Smith was a senior portfolio manager with the investment division of Pacific Mutual Life Insurance and a securities analyst with Phelps Research Co.
