2 Hospitals Break Off Talks on Possible Merger

Share

Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale and the larger Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena have canceled merger talks.

The hospitals had announced last February that they had been discussing whether to affiliate, possibly through a merger. In last week’s announcement, they did not disclose why the merger negotiations failed, and Verdugo Hills Hospital spokeswoman Jackie Forsythe declined to elaborate.

The hospitals noted, however, that they would continue to consider other affiliation agreements that would enable each hospital to supplement its patient services.
