The Rev. George E. Rowlett, co-founder of Panorama Full Gospel Four Square Church, has died in a Panorama City convalescent home. He was 84.

Rowlett died Friday of complications of his age, said his wife, the Rev. May Rowlett.

Born in Tryon, Okla., Rowlett began his evangelical work in about 1940. He traveled throughout the United States, settling in the San Fernando Valley. He and his wife later started the Panorama Full Gospel Four Square Church, which met at first in temporary quarters in Sepulveda. A permanent church was built in 1947. Rowlett and his wife served as co-pastors.

Rowlett retired in 1986. He was affiliated with the International Church of the Four Square Gospel.

Rowlett is survived by his wife of 64 years; brother, Eugene Rowlett of Mission Hills, and sisters, Inella Fanning of Hemet and Ethel Anna Davis of Phoenix.

A funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. today at the Panorama Full Gospel Four Square Church, 8856 Kester Ave., Panorama City. Burial will follow at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, Newhall. Praiswater Funeral Home in Van Nuys is handling the arrangements.
