Gannett Sells Culver City Complex: The motion picture and TV production facility was purchased by an affiliate of Columbia Pictures Entertainment for about $80 million. Columbia will manage the 17-acre, 14-sound-stage, state-of-the-art production facility that Gannett acquired in 1986 for $25 million. Gannett subsequently sunk about $30 million into refurbishing it. Columbia said the sound stages will be leased to independent producers and used as a supplementary facility for the studio.
