People’s Choice: No, the voters can’t pick “none of the above.” But they will get a chance to pick their favorite buildings in Orange County, whose suburban-style architecture has been scored by some critics.
The American Institute of Architects’ Orange County chapter invited the public to vote on selected buildings from around the county beginning Thursday and continuing through July 7 at the Jewel Court in South Coast Plaza.
The professional association has on display pictures of offices, factories and homes by local architects.
The “People’s Choice” award winners will get a dinner and an award July 19.
“This is an opportunity for the public to give input to the architectural community about their design preferences,” said John R. Garakian of the architects’ group.
