Sprinkles? Yes, Some, With More Due Today Before Sun Pops Out
It was a summer shower Southern California-style: not enough water to even leave a puddle and clouds so thin they couldn’t block out the moon.
By the morning rush hour, it was all gone. But for the record, Orange County was sprinkled with 0.01 of an inch of rain early Thursday morning. Forecasters predict the same Friday morning and possibly Saturday, but again, clearing both days before noon into a lovely warm day.
The last weekend in June is also expected to be a gem.
“Even though it’s sunny right now, you will have those showers again” Thursday night and Friday morning, said Michael Schlesinger, forecaster for WeatherData, which provides weather information for The Times. “On Saturday, it will end, and it’s looking rather nice for the weekend.”
Temperatures in Orange County reached the mid 70s Thursday and were expected to be similar today and Saturday. Schlesinger predicted the three days of showers will leave less than 0.05 of an inch of rain by Saturday and hardly any winds.
He said the storm is moving slowly through Southern California on its way southwest from the Gulf of Alaska.
