Countywide : Toxic Discharges
Under the state Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, Ventura County must report the toxic and potentially toxic materials discharged each week. The discharges are investigated by the county Environmental Health Division. DATE: June 17 LOCATION: Ventura Avenue Oil Field, Ventura MATERIAL: One barrel of oil DATE: June 17 LOCATION: Moorpark Road and Avenida de las Flores, Thousand Oaks MATERIAL: 50 gallons of diesel fuel DATE: June 18 LOCATION: Ferguson Piers, Ventura MATERIAL: One gallon of condensate from a gas line DATE: June 20 LOCATION: Storm channel near Wildwood Avenue and Avenida de los Arboles, Thousand Oaks MATERIAL: 10,000 gallons of waste water DATE: June 20 LOCATION: Montalvo Oil Field, Oxnard MATERIAL: Unknown amount of oil mixed in soil
