Culture Clash Tests Network Waters

Your cultural bias is showing. Throughout the article you used white as the opposite of Latino. As a white Hispanic writer I find that usage offensive and incorrect. The opposite of Latino is Anglo , not white (by which I presume you meant Caucasian ).

Many Latinos are from families that do not have American Indian or African blood. You are using an extremely broad generic word and applying it very narrowly--to people of brown color from mixed racial parentage.

To pigeonhole all of us in one category is precisely the kind of narrow-minded, paternalistic attitude that groups like Culture Clash and Latins Anonymous are now fighting in the TV networks.
