Looking Out for Gays’ Souls

Lou Sheldon of the Traditional Values Coalition, who was the first target of ACT-UP Orange County’s campaign against bigotry, is nothing more than a confidence man running a form of protection racket.
He’s traveling around the state telling people that if the rights of lesbians and gays are respected that somehow others will be harmed.
His literature and speeches are designed to scare people. Then, once he’s created a threat where none exists, he gets people to give him money to defend them from this creation of his imagination.
It’s a great scam really. What could be easier than defending people from an imaginary enemy?
