No More Strings: The landmark Bob Baker Marionette Theatre near downtown Los Angeles is closing after 29 years. The decision to close the financially-troubled theater was announced after Sunday’s matinee performance. The theater was founded by puppeteer Bob Baker who sold it and the name to the Los Angeles-based Don Battjes, and Associates in March, 1988.
