Soviets Add to Corn Purchases: The Soviet Union has bought more U.S. corn, continuing a buying streak that began last week, the Agriculture Department said. Officials said the sales by private exporters totaled 100,000 metric tons and are for delivery this year under a five-year grain agreement. Last week, the department disclosed over three days that Moscow had bought a total of 640,000 tons of U.S. corn.
