Nation IN BRIEF : FLORIDA : Six Stowaways Die Inside Container

Six of eight stowaways from the Dominican Republic who were sealed inside a wooden container on a freighter were found dead when the ship arrived in Palm Beach, Fla., authorities said. WPTV reported that the crew of a container ship spotted the two survivors cutting their way out of the container and alerted authorities to be on hand when it arrived at the Port of Palm Beach. The six apparently were overcome by heat and lack of oxygen, the station said.
