Gorbachev Sends Holiday Greetings to Americans

MOSCOW —
Soviet President Mikhail S. Gorbachev congratulated President Bush and the American people on the July 4th holiday, the official Tass news agency said Wednesday.
“Soviet-American cooperation, so vital for both sides and for world development as a whole, is entering a crucial stage. All the more so, we wish that well-being and peace reign in your land,” Gorbachev’s message said.
