Fishing enthusiasts will get a chance to compete for prizes while supporting a home for abused children in the first annual Ventura Kiwanis Calico Bass Tournament July 12-14.

Organizers of the three-day event hope to raise at least $10,000, which will be donated to the Casa Pacifica Home, a refuge for traumatized children now under construction in Camarillo, tournament chairman Jerry Dunn said.

“All money after expenses will be given to Casa Pacifica,” Dunn said.

Prizes, including a trip for two to Cabo San Lucas, will be awarded to the angler with the largest fish.
