St. Joseph Medical Center’s ReNew Life Adolescent Treatment Program will begin the Summer Teen Education and Parent Support on Tuesday in Burbank and Wednesday in Santa Clarita. STEPS is a free summer program for youths 12 through 18 who may be experiencing difficulty with issues they’re faced on a daily basis, behavior problems or chemical dependency. The weekly program includes education on alternative coping styles, communication skills, problem solving, goal setting, and peer and family relations. Among the activities planned are video presentations, leisure activities and individual counseling. The Burbank program will be held Tuesdays through Aug. 29 at St. Joseph Medical Center, 501 S. Buena Vista St. The Santa Clarita program will be held Wednesdays at the Santa Clarita YMCA, 26147 McBean Parkway. For information, call (818) 840-7923.

Antelope Valley Youth Services has merged with the Antelope Valley Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency. The program links callers with services including counseling, support groups, substance abuse programs, behavioral programs and parenting classes.
