Tekelec said it appointed William R. Atkinson as vice president of sales for the Calabasas-based manufacturer of telecommunications testing equipment.

Prior to joining Tekelec, Atkinson was executive vice president of Fibermux Corp., a Chatsworth-based producer of data-communications products.
