Creative Computer Posts 60% Earnings Increase

Creative Computer Applications, a Calabasas provider of laboratory information systems, said its earnings rose 60% on a 14% increase in sales for the three months ended May 31, compared with the same period a year ago.

Net income for the third quarter was $89,600, compared with $55,840 a year earlier, and sales rose from $1.09 million to $1.25 million, the company said.

For the nine months ended May 31, Creative Computer reported a 7% drop in earnings, from $214,236 to $198,900, compared with the same period a year ago. Revenues during the period rose 5% from $3.32 million to $3.5 million.

The company attributed the sales and earnings increases to new orders of its products from hospitals and clinics.
