ABC Layoffs: ABC News plans to close its Rome and St. Louis bureaus and lay off about 80 employees, a network official said Tuesday. Some facing dismissal may be offered jobs at ABC’s planned overnight news service, said a network source. ABC News said it will begin broadcasting “World News Overnight” from its Washington bureau on Jan. 6.
