Batter Up: Columbia Pictures finally confirmed that Geena Davis will star in “A League of Their Own,” the comedy directed by Penny Marshall that began shooting this week in Chicago. Davis (replacing Debra Winger, who left the cast) joins Madonna, Tom Hanks and Lori Petty in the film about an all-female baseball league. Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel, the writing team behind “City Slickers,” wrote the movie.
