Share

Paul Apodaca, curator of folk art at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, was one the experts in American Indian culture and museology who met earlier this month to lay the groundwork for the Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C.

Scheduled to open in 2000, the museum will house the Heye Foundation Collection, the largest private holding of American Indian artifacts in the U.S.

The Laguna Art Museum will hold a White Elephant sale July 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club, 1085 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach. For information on donating merchandise, contact Nancy Hartman at the museum’s development office: (714) 494-8971. All items must be delivered to the museum by July 17. Receipts will be available for tax purposes.
