Motorola Inc.: The electronics company reported second-quarter earnings of $119 million, 26% less than a year ago. The Schaumburg, Ill.-based firm had sales of $2.81 billion, up 4%. The company said the recession in the United States and parts of Europe had a negative effect on sales and earnings.
