WESTMINSTER : 2 Workers Promoted to Vacant City Posts
The City Council has promoted two employees to the posts of city engineer and community services supervisor.
The council this week named Marwan Youssef to oversee traffic, sidewalks, storm drains and street improvements as city engineer. Youssef had been an associate city engineer for two years, Redevelopment Director Don Anderson said.
Since former City Engineer Neal Thompson left the post in January to work at a private firm, the city has been using a consulting firm, at a higher cost.
The council promoted Charlene Lent to senior community services supervisor. She fills the post left vacant by Penny Lumer, who was promoted to community services and recreation manager in January.
Lent, who has worked for the city since 1981, will oversee the city’s gang intervention program, parks, playgrounds and recreational classes.
