Royal Ballet Sets Orange County Casting

Casting has been announced for the Royal Ballet engagement Aug. 6-11 at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa.

Conspicuously absent from the roster is guest artist Sylvie Guillem, the company’s best known international dancer, who appeared with the company during its East Coast engagement, ending Saturday in New York.

* Aug. 6, 8 p.m.: “Swan Lake” (Dowell, after Petipa, Ivanov/Tchaikovsky): Viviana Durante, Irek Mukhamedov, Derek Rencher; John Lanchbery, conductor.

* Aug. 7, 8 p.m.: “Swan Lake”: Lesley Collier, Stuart Cassidy, David Drew; Lanchbery.

* Aug. 8, 8 p.m.: “Scenes de Ballet” (Ashton/Stravinsky): Collier, Errol Pickford. “Winter Dreams” (MacMillan/Tchaikovsky): Mukhamedov, Anthony Dowell, Darcey Bussell, Durante. “ ‘Still Life’ at the Penguin Cafe” (David Bintley/Simon Jeffes): Tracy Brown, Christopher Saunders, Peter Abegglen, Ashley Page, Stephen Jefferies; Anthony Twiner, conductor.
