No Harassment at Pacoima Rally

Share

Concerning your stories June 28 and 29 on the reinstatement of the Pacoima Skills Center principal, Dr. Maureen Jensen:

Four of the center’s staff members claim they were harassed and threats were made against them at the protest June 27 against the replacement of Principal Jensen. I’m a student at the center, I was at the protest and I did not hear or see any such threats.

The news reporters and photographers did not capture any threats against the four.

If we are to believe Irene Tovar and her group, then the whites, blacks, Latinos and Asians at Pacoima Skills Center and in the L.A. news media who covered the protest have all conspired against a small group of Tovar’s friends at the center.

Dr. Jensen has gone through a lot of red tape to get the grants to fund new equipment. She has brought money, people and supplies into Pacoima. She even gave a job to Tovar’s sister.

It’s adding insult to injury that a small political group at the center should stoop so low as to fabricate lies to get more political power. Schools are for everyone. Not for one people or political party, but for everyone.
