Readers Get Into Festive Atmosphere

Share

After reading your article on the Olympic Festival (“Attendance Figures Causing Problems,” July 15) I had to ask myself, where is the leadership and promotional ability that draws 1,000 to see basketball at 12,000-seat Pauley Pavilion, draws 1,300 to see boxing at 4,250-capacity Gersten Pavilion at Loyola Marymount, draws 600 to see soccer at El Camino College’s 12,000-seat stadium?

Someone didn’t do their homework. Did Elizabeth Primrose-Smith, Festival director, consider giving blocks of tickets to organizations such as the Boys Club and the Police Athletic League? When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade.
