Nation IN BRIEF : NORTH CAROLINA : Some Child Abuse Charges Dropped

Parents of seven children named as sexual abuse victims of a former day-care center owner have asked that those charges be dropped, a prosecutor in Farmville, N.C. said. The request means that Robert Fulton Kelly Jr. will face 184 charges involving 22 children instead of 248 counts involving 29 children. Kelly, 43, owned the defunct Little Rascals Day Care Center at Edenton, N.C.
