Soviets Get Reader’s Digest: The conservative magazine that has crusaded for decades against communism has launched a Russian-language edition in four Soviet cities. The inaugural edition, printed on paper imported from Finland, contains seven pages of advertising, including ads for Western toothpaste, soft drinks, vodka and a Japanese computer firm. Many of the magazine’s regular features will appear--with a Russian twist. The column “It Pays to Increase Your Word Power” will appear as “Sila Slova,” or “Word Power,” to help readers learn English.
