Chinese zoologists are pandering to every need of four female pandas in the hope they will give birth, the official China Daily said Tuesday, but no one is sure whether the endangered animals are pregnant or not.

“They’ve become quiet and lost their appetite, signs of a panda’s pregnancy,” said Tang Chunxiang, a researcher at Wolong Panda Reserve. The four rotund females, artificially inseminated earlier this year, would be due at the end of this month if pregnant.
