West Covina : 8.5% Hike in Special Levies
The City Council on Monday approved an 8.5% increase in special assessments, meaning an average homeowner will pay $96.18 a year, up from $88.55.
Most of the money is for street light maintenance, but landscaping, parks, and capital improvement projects are also included, City Engineer Harry Thomas said. Residents will see the increase on their October tax bills.
This annual rate increase will provide the lighting district with $219,000 additional income, which will bring total annual assessments to $2.8 million, Thomas said.
