Van Nuys Too Often Getting Bad Rap
As a homeowner in Van Nuys for 15 years, I think the area often gets a bad rap.
Frequently I read derogatory statements in regard to the area, usually referred to as “poor” Van Nuys and frequently worse than that.
Maybe Encino and Northridge are really superior, but my home is quite expensive and I’ve seen other streets in Van Nuys that are just as lovely as any in Sherman Oaks.
Maybe those pristine communities should consider welcoming low-income housing instead of just dumping all the needy into Van Nuys. Those upturned noses make me sick.
For all its diverse income levels and ethnic groups, Van Nuys is quite peaceful. I always count my blessings when I leave my home and see poverty just a few blocks away.
Maybe if more communities were like Van Nuys, these people could follow the example set by America and still live in “nice” communities.
