Share

A fair to educate children about a new recycling program in Orange County’s regional parks will be held Saturday at Irvine Regional Park.

This weekend, blue recycling receptacles for beverage containers will be installed at the county’s eight regional parks. The containers will be collected by park personnel and proceeds will benefit Goodwill Industries of Orange County.

The Orange County Children’s Recycling Fair aims to promote the program among children and their families. The fair will include athletic events, an art contest, face-painting, puppet shows and a “count the cans” contest. Woodsy Owl and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will appear throughout the day.
