H. Michael Morand has been named vice president of U.S. marketing for AST Research Inc., an Irvine computer manufacturer. Morand was previously executive vice president of marketing and sales of the Troy division of Pierce Cos. Inc. in Santa Ana. He also was president of the U.S. computer division of Atari Corp. Before that, Morand was with AST from 1987 to 1989 as vice president of systems marketing.
